On genes

There is only 2% difference between the chimpanzee and human genomes. What is most fascinating is that these 2% difference are mainly not in the regions encoding for genes but in the regions regulating genes (Read e.g. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/10/061013104633.htm for more info). And that's one of the things creationists just don't get. Changing regulation can create interesting effects with rather low risk of monstrosities - it's like a cake recipy: Changing the amount of sugar/apples whatever will change the cake considerably and make it more appealing to some (and appalling to othrs) but it will still be a functional cake. Of course, sometimes gene-mutations (the equivalent of exchanging apples to something else) will occur. That's how cherry cakes arise while turd cake recipies will not be replicated.
